Resolve to Smile

Just one thing I ask of you, just one: resolve to smile more often.  We're leaving one year behind and starting a new one.  I’ve never been one to say goodbye to an old year because truthfully, as bad as it may have been, there's always something that is redeeming. It's 365 days long, there's got to be something that made you smile.  Something good is everywhere and if you don't think so...try smiling at someone.   What happens is your smile activates a powerful chemical reaction in your brain, which releases certain hormones like dopamine and serotonin. Dopamine raises our feelings of happiness and the release of serotonin is associated with reduced stress. You've got nothing to loose and so much to gain because smiling will trick your brain into believing your happy which then triggers actual feelings of happiness. It's a win/win situation.

The physical act of smiling can make a difference in your mood and can also lower stress, and boost your immune system.  There are so many studies out there to make you smile or at least serve as a reference as to why you should.

A smile is something that is easy to pass on.

Happy New Year to you and all those you love.  It's gonna be a good one!

Thank you so much for joining us today!
