Spring into Fun Makeup

As spring approaches, there are new opportunities that allow us to play with our makeup. The trend this spring is to choose one feature to focus on.  New York Fashion Week showed us that beauty can be about raw and glossy skin.  The makeup was kept to a bare minimum combined with red lips, not bright red lips but a semi matt red.  When the Paris shows were coming to an end, we were treated to color galore and the eyes took front and center: forest green to a warm peach eye shadow, robins egg blue to a yellow hue and orange as an eye tint. Either way, both continents showed us nothing substitutes for a good lipstick.  There was peach, electric orange, fuchsia and pastels.  Chanel has a number of good pinky corals that look great on any skin tone.  There's also peachy orange's that work so well with all the beautiful brights we're buying.  Colors of all shades have returned for spring 2017.

L'Oreal shared a few hints:

There's nothing quite like a pretty pink flush to instantly transform your face.  After all, a rosy tone is a signifier of youth.  Use the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Paints Blush Palette, which comes with four shades.  You can easily customize your look by blending a couple of them together.  Dust the blush on to the apples of your cheeks (remember to smile) and build until you reach your desired level of color.

If you've been skipping out on primer, it's time to make using it a priority! The L'Oreal Paris Studio Secrets Professional Magic Perfecting Base helps smooth pores and banish imperfections for a matte (a.k.a. non shiny) finish.  After you're done moisturizing, apply the primer dot by dot and blend it in a gentle circular motion over your face or to targeted areas (under your eyes to smooth over fine lines, your nose and cheeks to minimize the appearance of pores and your T-zone to help reduce the look of shinny skin).

Most of us tend to stick to black eyeliner and mascara year round, but if there was ever a right time to play with fun colors, it would be spring. With just a swipe along your upper and lower lash line and a coast of mascara, you’ll be able to create INSTANT eye popping appeal. To get the look, pair the L’OREAL Paris Infallible Paints Eyeliner in electric blue with the L’PREAL Paris Voluminous Original mascara in cobalt blue.

Makeup is all about enhancing the natural beauty you already have. Makeup provides a fun way to bring excitement and warmth into the spring.  Have fun and try a new look! Treat yourself, take care of yourself, and take some time to make yourself feel beautiful and confident.
