Let's Talk Makeup

Today, our blog focus is a round up of what is trending for Fall in cosmetics and how you can find colors that will complement you and your overall look.

This Fall season, we saw a lot of punk and Goth inspired looks.  Women's lips were painted shades of deep plum and darker colors boarder lining black. Today we will look at reds. Red lips are frequently associated with the most classic looks.  There are many shades of great reds.  If you're not sure which one suits you best, we suggest visiting a department store.  Find out what color red works best for your skin tone and lifestyle. You can pick up a lip liner at a drug store and historically, Burt's Bees lip Replenishment works well as a base for lipstick.  Go visit a MAC store.  They have a number of reds and variety of other interesting and unique colors. MAC assistants can also work with you to help you find the right color.  Ask to see their color Lady Bug - - a  red that is quite diversified. As you shop and experiment, you'll start to see what is right or not right for you.

Shimmer on the cheeks, down the front of ones nose, and on the forehead paired with blue eye shadow was seen all over the runways and in every fashion magazine.  As we all know, blue is quite the statement and perhaps too much for your everyday wear. Instead of blue eye shadow, try Ink blue or indigo mascara; this can brighten your face against the whites of our eyes and is a nice change from our standard black mascara. Also try a metallic bronze eye color in replace if a blue.  For instance, MAC has a line of Paint Pot as well as a color called Indian Wood. These shades give your eyes a subtle, natural glow.

Fall fashion gives a new meaning to classic eyeliner and modern graphic strikes are showing up everywhere.  The translation is: eyeliner is a wonderful way to define the eyes and give them depth.  If you're not comfortable with a liquid liner, buy a Crayon pencil. MAC has a good line of Eye Kohl Crayon that are easy on your eyelid. Teddy brown is a good shade as well and will complement red lips nicely.

We know all to well that although many of us love makeup, it can be an added stress or hassle. We suggest choosing one special product and trying it out. For example, brightening a lip can make a world of difference in your overall confidence and overall look. Have fun and experiment!
