The Power of New

     Once upon a time, we knew nothing. Everything we did seemed unfamiliar - school, work, makeup. If we hadn’t explored, challenged, and embraced the unknown, we would not have experienced any of the things we love today. Life got better when we started to do new things - - think of the first time you tasted hot fudge poured over ice cream with walnuts.

     Don't be afraid to try new things. You never know what you'll find. Good or bad, an experience can always teach you about the world and connect you closer to your inner self; live with no regrets. Be reasonable with yourself and your expectations; try things that call out to you. Accomplishing something you've never done before will give your confidence a huge boost.

     Matt Cutts gave a TED talk recently and suggested " Think about something to add to your life and try it for the next 30 days. Making small sustainable changes are more likely to stick...the next 30 days are going to pass whether you like it or not". 

     Have you ever wanted to be a photographer?  Take a picture every day for 30 days.  I can assure you that you will always cherish those 30 photos.   Plant seeds and grow flowers or veggies in a window box or garden. 

     Spring is the perfect time to try something new. It starts to get warm and sunny, moods start to lighten and new growth surrounds us.  Make a list of everything you appreciate and every day, for 30 days, add one thing to the list. Smile, compliment someone, eat something you would never normally try.
