Flats are the New Heels
Ahhhh, the feeling of putting on a gorgeous pair of heels is something many of us love. Not only do we add a couple of inches, we walk as if the world is ours. However, there are those times when 3 or 5-inch stilettos just don’t work. They can be uncomfortable and impractical which in turn, can take our attention away from important events, such as work. That's when we pull out our trusty black flats. A great pair of flats provide comfort, ease, and just as much self-assurance as a pair of heels.
At the 2015 CFDA awards, flats were the Red Carpet choice for Karlie Kloss, Betsey Johnson and the Olsen twins. Many assume only 6-foot model types (Karlie Kloss) can make flats look sexy and stylish but the Olsen twins proved this incorrect. The twins effortlessly showed off their petite stature, elegantly sporting trendy flats. In fact, many stars are starting to trade in their heels for flats; Emma Thompson famously threw her Louboutin heels over her shoulder and happily, comfortably, and beautifully wore flats at the 2014 Sag Awards.
High heels can alter the position of the foot and how the foot functions. Complications of wearing uncomfortable shoes can surface as common corns under the balls of your feet, swelling, heel pain, bunions, and even Achilles tendonitis. Comfortable shoes are a must so that your feet don't suffer later in the day or in the long run. Lucky for us, flats have become a large part of fashion-forward apparel, and many style varieties are now available. There is only one rule you need to know: wear shoes that are comfortable for you and make you feel confident.

Quote to take with you for the week:
"You can never take too much care over the choice of your shoes. Too many women think that they are unimportant, but the real proof of an elegant woman is what is on her feet."
