Makeup for the Holidays
As the holidays approach, new opportunities come about to play with our makeup looks. During the holidays we can be a little more bold and spirited with our color pallets. It is a common trend this year to choose one feature to focus on. For instance, focus on the eyes by adding a bright blue shadow and maintain neutral tones for the lips and cheeks. Or, go with a bold bright highlight to emphasize the cheekbones and other high points on the face and keep the rest of the face neutral. Overall, it is popular to keep makeup relatively natural, only adding just a small hint of color or sparkle to make the look unique. Another way to add a fun flare to your makeup besides using color, is to experiment with glitter, nothing too crazy, just something to catch the light and emphasize the eyes, lips, or cheeks. A beautiful gold or champagne glitter can go a long way and will make you feel like a glowing you. Since the majority of today's popular and trending makeup looks are more natural, it can be a great time to also experiment with nude pallets. Try a nude lip and bold smoky eye, or a nude eye and burgundy lip.
Makeup is all about enhancing the natural beauty you already have. The winter months are grey outside and often in our wardrobes. Makeup provides a fun way to bring excitement and warmth into these months. Have fun and try a new look! Treat yourself, take care of yourself, and take some time to make yourself feel beautiful and confident.
We wanted to share some of Harper’s Bazaar and Cosmopolitan's Holiday makeup looks as a means of potential inspiration (or just for fun!)
