Let's Take on A Challenge

It doesn't matter what your hair color, shoe size or background is because everyone has something to offer. We all have strengths and weaknesses and nothing is going away. Sure we can change our shortcomings but face it, no one is perfect and never will be.  I hope we all know by now, challenges are a part of every day life.  But know this too; when we embrace our challenges, we can turn them into positive strengths and I guarantee you, it will help you feel good. Taking on challenges makes us feel fulfilled because we are bringing something new into our lives.

Take Tatyana McFadden for example.  Tatyana spent the early part of her life as a person with a disability in a Russian orphanage. She faced hurdles at every turn including many forms of discrimination.  Today, Paralympic Tatyana McFadden excels at sports and exhibits exceptional courage. She shows an ability to overcome adversity.  Her life goal is to make a difference as a role model and she is striving to make the world a better place for people of all abilities. Where does this spirit come from?  It lives in all of us.  It's called being human.  We are so powerful and when our mind is made up to do something, watch out world.  When we combat weakness and overcome challenge, our minds open up to alternatives that can unlock strengths or abilities we never even knew we had.

Remember, we don't have to take on the world to make changes in our lives. It’s the small things, like a smile, that give us the strength to change. Give someone a genuine smile; you never know the effect you can have on another person. Spend time with your animals or animals in general. They can be so silly and will make you happy from within. That's a good thing! Walk into a bakery or a place that makes bread. Providing you have no dietary restrictions, buy a piece, eat it, and tell me how good it makes you feel.  Buy a friend something they like for no reason at all - a piece of chocolate, a little treat. At the end of the day, remember everyone has something to offer and no matter how small or large that offering is, it is always important.
